AFD RULESET

*Once the teampass has been purchased, there are NO refunds.

*Cross platform is allowed, EXCEPT PC!

*THIS IS A NORTH AMERICA (including Puerto Rico and Mexico) ONLY TOURNAMENT

 

AfterDark and the Florida Mutineers will have their own on-site referees to make sure all matches go on as planned and to settle any disputes that may occur.

 

All matches have 10 minutes to start after vetoes have finished, unless maps are pre-determined by said tournament organizer. If both teams are not in the lobby, the team that is not fully in is subject to disqualification as per AFD REFEREES. 

 

If a player disconnects, it will be up to Administrators to choose what happens. This can mean the match goes on without the player, the team that disconnected loses the map, the map resumes from where it stopped,etc. Officials are allowed to discuss and find other solutions. Please DO NOT STOP the match if this happens. Play out the match and send in proof that a player disconnected as soon as possible afterwards to our Administrators

TEAM RULES

  • Teams must consist of 5 Players and a Team Coach (who cannot be one of the Players unless necessary for substitution. (SEE SECTION “SUBSTITUTIONS”))

  • All 5 Players must have an active Activision account

  • Each Team must have a name and logo for the stream and other official uses

  • CHECK IN THE DAY BEFORE THROUGH EMAIL

**You MUST let us know at least 24 hours before the match if there are any changes in the Teammates, Team names, logos, etc.**

All organizations competing have the right to change and replace any team roster at any given time before the tournament begins.

COMPETITION STRUCTURE AND FORMAT

PLAYERS CAN USE BOTH XBOX AND PLAYSTATION BUT NO PCs ARE ALLOWED

Players may not use the following controllers:

  • Turbo controller

  • Button Macro controller

Players and Teams found using ineligible equipment will be required to FORFEIT each game of the match where the equipment was used. “The Administration reserves the right to inspect and review player equipment to ensure compliance with these Official Rules” (4.2 of CDL Official Rules).

The title for the Challengers 2020 Season will be Call of Duty: Modern Warfare.

 

CHALLENGERS TOURNAMENT COMPETITIONS

Each Match is a BEST OF 5 GAMES. THE FIRST TEAM TO WIN THREE GAMES WINS THE MATCH.

After LOSING a Match, Teams are eliminated from the bracket.

Teams who LOSE 2 Matches will be eliminated from the tournament.

Bracket sizes are determined by the number of registered participants for each tournament.

If there are too many teams that have registered, they will be placed on a Waiting List. From there, there are two possible outcomes:

  1. They could be called in to the event if a team does not confirm their attendance the day before OR

  2. They could be some of the first to be registered for the next event.

Teams have 10 minutes to arrive at their station after a match has been called. If after these 10 minutes are over and players still HAVE NOT joined, the Team can either request an additional 5 minutes or can be DISQUALIFIED.

Game types will be decided for each round of the bracket and MUST be played out.

*Hosting--

AFTERDARK AND THE FLORIDA MUTINEERS HAVE PRE-DETERMINED WHICH MAPS WILL BE PLAYED (Gun Runner, Ramazza, St. Petrograd, Hackney Yard, and Arklov Peak)

The dates of the event are able to be modified by Administration at any time for any reason (5.8 of CDL Official Rules)

Payment-- Players will be receiving payments through PayPal.

 

SUBSTITUTIONS

TEAMS THAT NEED TO SUBSTITUTE A PLAYER NEED TO DO SO AT CHECK-IN WITH PROOF THAT THE PLAYER WILL NOT BE ABLE TO PARTICIPATE. “The determination of whether such proof is sufficient shall be determined in the Administration’s discretion” (5.2.5 of CDL Official Rules).

IN THE CASE OF AN EMERGENCY WHERE A PLAYER NEEDS TO BE SUBSTITUTED, their coach can substitute as a first option. If there is no coach, the team may draft a Player that is not on any other team in the competition. SUBSTITUTIONS ARE PERMANENT FOR THE REMAINDER OF THE EVENT.

CHALLENGERS GAME RULES AND SETTINGS

Teams MUST follow all of the “Game Settings” listed below.

Equipping, using or enabling match restricted items detailed below, as well, under “Restricted Items” will result in a complete FORFEIT from game and match. 

These violations will be tracked by the referees.

--The referees are Administration officials who make judgements of every match or game-related issue that occurs at any time before, during, and after a game or match.

Players may NOT end a game under any circumstances unless approved by an Administrator. Failure to abide by this rule may result in a penalty.

NO WARM-UP OR PRACTICE GAMES ARE PERMITTED ONCE THE MATCH’S FIRST GAME HAS BEGUN.

TEAMS MAY NOT DELAY THE START OF THE GAME OR MATCH BEYOND WHAT IS SCHEDULED WITHOUT SPEAKING TO AN ADMINISTRATION OFFICIAL.

In the event that lag occurs, the game should be completed. The Player(s) experiencing lag should take video proof to provide to tournament live support and Administration after the game has ended. LEAVING THE GAME PREMATURELY MAY RESULT IN FORFEIT OF THE ROUND OR GAME.

If a Player disconnects within the first 30 SECONDS and/or before the first kill, the game should be ended. In this case, all players will be asked to leave and restart the game.

If a Player disconnects after the first 30 SECONDS and/or the first kill, the game must be continued and the disconnected Player should rejoin the game.

If the Team with the disconnected Player leaves the lobby, their team may forfeit the round/game.

In any case of a TIE, the game will be REPLAYED.

The final score on the scoreboard will be the primary determining factor in which team wins or loses.

 

CHALLENGERS ONLINE MATCH REPORTING

It is HIGHLY RECOMMENDED that proof is taken with the console’s built in recording system to gather proof of any discrepancies.

All NO SHOWS must be verified by an Administration official. After the maximum 15 minutes given for all teams to show has ended, the referees will decide what the next option is or what will occur moving forward.

*** TEAMS MUST REPORT THE MATCH RESULTS WITHIN TEN MINUTES OF ITS COMPLETION. FAILURE TO DO SO MAY RESULT IN A TEAM LOSS. ***

In the event of a DISPUTE, please provide video / screenshot proof to live support or Administration. The issue must be clearly stated as well as the time and what the support/ Administration Official should be looking for.

 

CONDUCT AND PENALTIES

ALL Participants must observe high standards of personal integrity and good sportsmanship. Participants are required to behave in a professional manner with competitors, Challengers, and members of Administration, media, sponsors, and fans.

Participants may not use obscene or offensive language at any time and on any platform (This rule applies to all languages and includes abbreviations and obscure references).

Participants are expected to settle differences in a respectful manner and without violence, threats, or intimidation.

VIOLENCE IS NOT PERMITTED AT ANY TIME OR PLACE TO ANYONE!!

Participants must compete to the best of their abilities at all times. ANY FORM OF CHEATING WILL NOT BE TOLERATED.
